RS232 module

With this module you can connect the UART interface of the microcontroller to a RS232 (V.24) interface and in this way you can i.e. realize the data transfer between a PC and a microcontroller through the serial interface.

To get into this area easier exaple programs for the microcontroller as well as the PC are available. In this example a text gets transfered from the microcontroller to the PC. The PC will then display the text. With the example program you can transfer data from the PC to the microcontroller. The microcontroller will give these data out on a port.

The PC programm has been written in Visual Basic. The sourcecode as well as a compiled version is available.

Data

  • Suitable for Experimenting Board
    I and II
  • Attachable to extension port
    Port 0, 1 and 3
  • Einstellungen am DIP-Schalter
No special adjustments necessary. XTAL 1 and XTAL 2 should be "ON" so the MC gets a tact signal.
  • Power consumption
    ~ 15 mA
  • Circuit board / Layout
  • Limitations
None. Please note that the opening at the side of the connector is on this module not pointed to the edge of the board. This makes a better running of lines possible...
