A network analyser is used in electronics, communications engineering and especially in high-frequency engineering to measure the scattering parameters (S-parameters), i.e. the wave size of the reflection and transmission at electrical gates as a function of frequency. Network analysers are used in the field of electrical circuit development and as test equipment in production. Network analysers are used to determine the transmission characteristics of filters or amplifiers, for example, and to measure complex transmission paths.
