The TekBox power amplifiers are specifically designed for EMC immunity testing. "Normal" power amplifiers are offered for operation with a signal generator and those with modulation function for operation with a tracking-generator output of a spectrum analyzer.

Power amplifier with modulation function

With the Tekbox TBMDA series, the tracking generator output of a spectrum analyzer can be used to generate modulation signals. Thus saving the cost of a signal generator. The TBMDA power amplifiers modulate the sinewave signal of the tracking generator output in the AM or PM method required for EMC immunity tests and thus generate the appropriate test signals. The modulation mode can be switched on or off to achieve a pure power gain without modulation.
