Description

The DSG3030 RF signal generator offers standard AM/FM/ØM analog modulation, as well as options for I/Q modulation and I/Q baseband output with a maximum frequency 3 GHz. Featuring a high signal purity with phase noise measuring <-110 dBc/Hz @ 20 kHz (typical) and a wide output range of -130 dBm to +13 dBm, the DSG3000 RF signal generator has standard pulse modulation with an on/off ratio of up to 80dB, with optional pulse train generator available. The DSG3000 series also has an amplitude accuracy of < 0.5 dB (typical). Beside the analog output the devices include a USB-Host- and a USB-device and a LAN interface.

The DSG3000 series is a high-performance RF signal generator. It provides comprehensive modulation solutions such as: Pulse modulation with customizable pulse train and I/Q modulation (optional) and standard AM/FM/FM analog modulation. All modulation schemes support internal and external modulation sources. In addition, to meet the demands of production environments, the DSG3000 is designed to be both, highly stable and reliable. These options are not included with the device and have to be purchased separately.

Pulse Train Generator (PUG-DSG3000)

With this software-option it is possible to edit a pulse train list. Each pulse train consists of a specified number of pulses with a userdefineable on- and off-time resulting in a pulse train dwell time. Multiple pulse trains can be added to this list to form special pulse sequence. This option can be installed by the user.

High Stable OCXO Reference Clock (OCXO-A08)

This hardware option adds a temperature controlled, oven heated and highly stable 10 MHz reference clock to the DSG3000 devices. With this option the temperature stability rises from < 0.5 parts per million to < 5 parts per billion. This option can be installed by the user.

I/Q Modulation, Baseband Output (IQ-DSG3000)

With the I/Q Modulation and Baseband Output hardware option the DSG3000 series devices supports standard I/Q Modulation with internal and external modulation sources. It features a build in programmable baseband generator for the modulating signal (internal source) and two inputs for the I and Q components if "external source" is selected. In addition the baseband outputs (I and Q) are available on the rear panel of the device too. Please note: This option is not upgradeable! If you need I/Q modulation please select the right device with build-in option!

Power Meter Controller (PMC-DSG3000)

The Power Meter Controller option is a software option. The DSG3000 can be connected to a power sensor or power meter with USB interface via the USB Host interface. In this picture, the Agilent U2004A USB power sensor is taken as an example for description. This option can be installed by the user.

Ultra IQ Station

Ultra IQ Station is a PC application software developed by RIGOL for the IQ modulation function of the DSG3000 series RF signal generator. It can be used to edit, save and download the arbitrary waveform (namely ARB) file. This software is designed on the basis of the standard drive VISA commonly used in the industry. The PC software can communicate with the instrument via USB-TMC, LAN or GPIB interface to realize the control of the instrument.
